Change order software for subcontractors
Extra work only pays if it’s priced, papered, and signed — and subs do all three from a truck between pours. Planroom’s change order management turns the directive into a clean COR the same day, and tracks it until the money lands.
Extra work is easy. Getting paid for it isn’t
The verbal go-ahead
“Just get it done, we’ll square up later.” Later arrives, memories differ, and the sub who did the work is negotiating from a handshake.
Pricing from the tailgate
The change needs a number today, but the takeoff is in the office and the crew is already moving. Slow pricing becomes no pricing becomes eaten scope.
The COR black hole
Submitted three weeks ago. No signature, no rejection, no answer — and the work’s long done. Every silent COR is your money earning interest for someone else.
The end-of-job write-off
Closeout arrives with a stack of unsigned changes, and “let’s settle up” becomes a discount you never agreed to. Weak records negotiate weakly.
Directive to deposited
Price it the same day
Build the COR from line items on a phone — materials, labor, equipment, markup — while the directive is fresh and the crew is still there.
Evidence attached
The directive, the photos, the daily report entry that flagged it, the RFI that caused it — the entitlement story assembled automatically.
Clean packages, faster signatures
GCs sign faster when the COR answers their questions — priced clearly, backed up, referenced. Make approval the easy path.
Aging on every COR
Days-outstanding visible on every submitted change — your follow-up list, and your record when response time becomes the story.
The outstanding-money log
Every COR — pending, approved, paid — on one log with totals. Walk into closeout knowing your number to the dollar.
E-signature on the record
Signed changes, time-stamped, with the full thread behind them. Paper that holds when someone tests it.
Built from the sub’s chair too. Keaton Bandhoesingh, Founder — preconstruction across an eight-figure concrete business, with $100M+ directly awarded over his career. Submitting CORs, chasing signatures, and defending entitlement to GCs was his actual week — the changes that got papered fast got paid; the ones that didn’t got negotiated. Read the story →

Good to know
How does this get my change orders approved faster?
By making approval the easy path: a COR priced line by line, with the directive, photos, daily report entry, and originating RFI attached, answers the GC’s questions before they’re asked. Clean packages move; vague ones sit.
What about verbal directives?
Document them the same day: note the direction in the daily report with who gave it, then price the COR while it’s fresh. A contemporaneous record of a verbal directive is dramatically stronger than a recollection at closeout. (General information, not legal advice — your contract’s notice provisions govern.)
Does the GC need Planroom too?
No — your CORs export as clean PDFs to send however the GC wants them, and your record stays yours either way. If the GC is on Planroom, the whole flow gets smoother still.
Can I track T&M work?
Yes — capture the labor, equipment, and materials as they happen (your daily reports are the backbone), then roll them into a priced COR instead of a pile of tickets nobody reconciles.
How much does it cost?
$149 a month for the entire platform. No setup fee, no per-seat pricing, no contract — less than one hour of eaten extra work.
